Congratulations!!! You're pregnant, YAY!!!
Now, I know there are so many things that NEED to be done before baby is born. Booking a photographer is the furthest thing on your mind. But to make sure the session gets planned and customized just for you, it is BEST to book during your second trimester.
So soon?
Yes
Here is the why:
New parents can be overwhelmed when they get back home with baby. Reaching out to a photographer for newborn pics is often the last thing on their mind. Scrambling to find a photographer last minute can be difficult, not to mention finding one who has availability on such short notice. Plus, your baby is growing and will become increasingly more active (and sleep for shorter periods) as each day passes, making it more difficult to pose and position your bundle of joy for those amazing pictures every parent dreams of.
Your 2nd Trimester is also an ideal time to book because it gives us enough time to plan the session. I always encourage expecting parents to discuss ideas, themes, colors and all the detailed stuff you may want to incorporate into the photoshoot. By planning ahead of time, we will be well prepared incase of an early delivery, and it allows myself enough time to make any necessary purchases so that they arrive in a timely fashion. Plus, Mom's usually have more energy and feel better during this portion of the pregnancy, which helps with planning.
*Note* Booking in advance does NOT lock in a Date and Time, but rather locks in a timeframe. Once you have given birth, and have been sent home, you must call me within 24-48 hours to schedule a day and time for the session. If your hospital stay is extended, that’s fine, but please contact me when you are expected to be released so we can plan accordingly. Remember, the ideal window to shoot a newborn session is when the baby is 4-14 days old. The older baby gets the more awake they become, less cooperative they are and may develop baby acne. We all want the most precious photos of your baby, because they are only this little once.

Have you already had baby or are just creeping up on your due date?
Don't worry, we can still try our best to fit you in. But what I want you to understand upfront, the older baby is, the more likely they are to be more awake and more aware. This doesn’t mean we can’t capture amazing pictures, but it can limit certain poses which require the baby to be sound asleep, and require us to work a bit harder to get baby comfortable and posed.
Luckily, I love babies and love what I do!

Now let's get you booked.
